Loyal Luton welcome the news today that in the Kings Speech 2023 the Government announced details of its intention with regards to football governance and the implementation of an Independent Football Regulator for English football. We see this as a positive first step in protecting football for the fans.
We believe the Regulator must be given strong powers to prevent bad owners / safeguard heritage assets/ and to ensure that fans have the final say before any sale or relocation of their club is allowed.
We along with our friends at LTST will continue to lobby our very supportive MPs in the town to push for this as a minimum in the legislation.
