Hello everyone,
As we stand on the threshold of a new Championship campaign, it's hard not to reflect on the rollercoaster of emotions from the previous season. Our valiant attempt to remain in the Premiership brought us so close, and the pain of narrowly missing out still lingers. However, despite the disappointments, one undeniable fact stands clear: the unwavering support from our fans was nothing short of extraordinary. Each match, regardless of the outcome, saw the stands filled with passionate supporters who cheered, chanted, and united in their belief in our team. That commitment and connection are now more important than ever as we gear up for what lies ahead.
The dawn of a new season always brings with it a mix of anticipation and excitement. It’s a chance for us to start fresh, and with our team being one of the favourites to make an immediate return to the Premiership, the significance of our support cannot be overstated. We often hear from players and coaching staff how vital our backing is, and this campaign will undoubtedly present moments when our vocal presence will make all the difference. As we approach each game, let's resolve to be loud and proud, setting a tangible benchmark for the rest of the season.
Looking ahead, the fixtures promise to be thrilling. We have some tantalizing matchups that are sure to stoke our passion. The anticipation of facing teams like QPR, Portsmouth, and Millwall will bring all of us together, but it's the doubleheader against The Harry Potter Appreciation Society on October 19 and February 22 that has us all waiting to see how they arrive at Kenilworth Road this time. How we laughed and laughed and laughed!
While we will all miss the departure of last season's standout player, Ross Barkley, who has made a move to Aston Villa, we must remember the joy he brought to our club. His performances last season made a lasting impact, and we wish him well in his new chapter. We hope he continues to shine brightly, potentially earning a spot in the England squad as he showcases his talents at Villa Park.
In other developments, we’re organising a get-together for our members on September 21, coinciding with our home match against Sheffield Wednesday. We will be meeting at the Hightown Club,Oxen Road from 12 noon. Alongside this, we are also planning some away trips, and more details will follow soon.
The construction site at Power Court is finally showing signs of progress, a welcome sight after what felt like an eternity of discussions. Taking the time to ensure everything is done correctly will serve us better in the long run, avoiding potential pitfalls that could arise from rushing the process. It feels like we are approaching the final stretch, and before long, we will see real progress on-site.
As we embark on this new season, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support of the Loyal Luton Supporters' Club. We, as a committee, are committed to being more active this season. Today we have launched our own whatsapp community channel. It's not a chat, but will be used for bulletins on events, away pubs and home match venues. Feel free to join it. Link is here - https://chat.whatsapp.com/BhAlhorYpRsLqplXB5rxsh
Carpe Diem!
